WJMS students, Michael Vescio and Brian Phillips were recognized by Rep. Jan Tankersley, the BOE, the Bulloch County Foundation for Public Education (Foundation), and Superintendent Charles Wilson at a signing ceremony at the Bulloch County Board of Education. Each now has up to $20,000 available to them to attend college. This $100,000 investment is made possible by REACH Georgia, the Foundation, and local post-secondary partners, like Georgia Southern University, East Georgia College and Ogeechee Technical College who have agreed to double-match each of the original $10,000 scholarships.
Bulloch County Schools (BCS) named two WJMS students as REACH scholars on Sept. 12. Chosen from 66 applicants, eighth-grade scholars, Michael Vescio and Brian Phillips, along with their families, will participate in a special signing ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 25, prior to the Board of Education’s work session.
